The Eastern Mediterranean Studies Initiative (EMSI), a research and dialogue platform under the School of Law of the University of Nicosia, organizes the 4th EMSI Annual Conference in September 19-20, 2019. The Coordinating Committee of the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Academic Network (BSEMAN) decided that BSEMAN will participate with its own panel, titled “Networking and Partnerships in the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean. Interdisciplinary approaches on peace, international cooperation and environmental sustainability in the 21st century”. Since BSEMAN is an international network that mainly aims to enhance cooperation between academic institutions in the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean (BSEM) the panel will host papers pertinent with the BSEM region from various research foci. Therefore, we invite experts to submit abstracts under the following thematic areas (inter alia):
- Security and diplomacy: bilateral and multilateral challenges
- Energy geopolitics and geoeconomics
- Environmental sustainability
- The challenge of multiculturalism in the BSEM
Abstracts (no longer than 300 words) should be sent to kontos.m@unic.ac.cy, with the indication “EMSI 4th Annual Conference-BSEMAN panel”. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is May 25th, 2019.
